Local radio station Darwin’s 97 Seven FM got in touch with us after experiencing some troubles with their 5KW transmitter. After initial testing we found that the return loss of the antenna system was poor at -10.50 dB. Due to the decreased antenna efficiency Darwin 97 Seven FM were forced to reduce the overall transmit power to prevent damage to the broadcasting hardware. We replaced a problematic EAI flange connector and power divider which improved the antenna efficiency in a big way. The return loss is now better then the first day it was commissioned several years ago at -25 dB. Darwin 97.7FM were very happy with the outcome.
